Coffee may take centre stage at LCF, but The Coffee Music Project brings the vibes. Across the weekend, we saw a wealth of diverse, exciting performers take to the Music Stage to soundtrack the festival - representing folk to hip-hop and everything in between.
The Coffee Music Project is a trans-Atlantic competition showcasing the creativity and talents of emerging musicians, while bolstering the international musical community and raising money for Project Waterfall. Now in its 5th year, The Coffee Music Project celebrates authentic musical talent and provides a platform for self-made artists. Contestants span a variety of genres, but all music submitted must be original work, with a distinctive sound and meaningful lyrics.

So what does this have to do with coffee? The Coffee Music Project raises money for coffee-growing communities all over the world. 100% of proceeds go directly to Project Waterfall, bringing clean drinking water, sanitation and education to coffee growers around the world.
The distinguished panel of industry professionals decide the fate of our talented competitors. A hand-selected group of songwriters, music editors, agents, publishers, and other members of the musical elite dish out prizes to help up-and-coming artists kick-start their musical career.
“Working in the music industry, I see the difficulties talented new artists face to get their music heard”, says Elspeth Pierce, journalist at Radio X and Candid Magazine. “That’s why the Coffee Music Project is such a fantastic platform: it opens the opportunity up to so many musicians and can lead to an amazing career,” That, coupled with the wonderful cause it raises money for, makes it a no brainer really.”
