Java, go juice, rocket fuel. Worm dirt, even. Whatever you call it, coffee is now a Great British staple. And from the humble café on the corner, to the apothecary-style mixology lounge, it’s small, independent businesses bringing together their communities and stoking up the economy.
Square's passion for coffee runs so deep, they even released their very own Square UK Coffee Report last year. As a snapshot, some of the most interesting findings were:
- The four-fold increase in people’s preference for almond and oat milk
- The latte remaining the UK’s favourite overall beverage in the face of a growing flat white trend
- Matcha tea coming out on top as the most expensive coffee shop drink
If 2018 was an exciting year for coffee, there’s little doubt that 2019 will be next-level.
Square gives coffee merchants the tools and expert advice to get off the ground, improve their cash flow and thrive long-term. We’re proud to announce that Square isthe official payments partner at London Coffee Festival this March, holding demos and practical sessions at their booth in Shoreditch.
