Come to our stand to vote for your favourite cup design and support Project Waterfall!
Decent Packaging have partnered with charity
Project Waterfall to run a competition for local artists to submit a bespoke piece of artwork to be considered for the next Compostable Canvas cup range. You can check out the last artist collab
here. We’ve received a bunch of incredible entries from UK artists answering the question “What does water mean to you?” and will be showcasing 10 shortlisted entries at our stand at this year’s festival!
The winning design will be printed on a limited edition run of compostable cups to help raise awareness and funds for the charity, to help bring clean water, sanitation and education to coffee-growing communities across the world.
Visit Decent Packaging at stand G45, say hi to the team and vote for your favourite design! If you can’t make the event we will be collecting votes on the @decentpackaging Instagram page so make sure you’re following them!
The official London Coffee Festival Coffee Cups
The official London Coffee Festival coffee cups, manufactured by
Decent Packaging are made from plants, lined with plants, and dressed up in water-based ink. The essential concept at the heart of decent, is to ensure they can unmake everything they make, while using materials derived from plants to transform packaging into an industry beyond oil.
The entire decent packaging product range is compostable, ensuring that wherever packaging is used at this year’s event – decent can supply a plant-based compostable option, simplifying our waste streams for The London Coffee Festival, and tying into the circular economy.
This means that all LCF cups and other decent packaging at the event, along with organic waste and food scraps, can be disposed of in the clearly marked LCF bins, before finding its way to compost. We’ll even have our friendly Bin Hosts on site to help. Easy!
And how will we make sure it’s composted? For a second year we have partnered with
First Mile to collect and compost everything from The London Coffee Festival. Once collected, the waste will be taken to their composting facility where the compostable packaging and food waste will integrate into the organic waste system. It's then turned into nutrient rich fertiliser from the composting process - How cool is that?
With our goal to make The London Coffee Festival as waste-free as possible – we know you’ll be as excited as we are to reduce the amount of plastic being used and, in doing so, simplifying the waste systems, with the knowledge that both the packaging and food waste is being turned into compost and not going to landfill.
