Tony Small, Decent Packaging founder, reflects on his first LCF!
We interviewed Tony Small, Decent Packaging founder and he reflects on his first visit to London Coffee Festival ahead of LCF next month
Who did you meet?
So many people! I was the only person on our stand and while it was a small setup, we had people lining up to hear about decent and what we do, which was amazing.
What did you enjoy the most?
The other vendors were awesome people to hang with for four days, and the event's intensity was amazing. And of course can't forget the great coffee!
What set-up did you have?
I'd purchased some shelves from Ikea and had a couple of boxes to rest my laptop on. And loads of decent cups. Our set-up is now slightly bigger and a little more professional...
How many coffees do you think you consumed?
At least 4/5 a day, so maybe 20 over the event - it's almost TOO easy to stay well caffeinated at LCF.
Would you have done anything differently?
Having a system set up to take orders or setting up accounts at the event. As a one-man band it was busy enough just trying to talk to everyone!
Any other fun moments you can share?
It was an amazing experience. I felt like an excited little kid - this guy from NZ setting up a stand at the biggest coffee festival with absolutely no idea what to expect. And the response from showgoers was amazing! It was an intense four days but amazing, to say the least. It made me realise that we have a great product and service offering, and it's just what consumers are looking for. It fueled me to push harder and really take our brand to new levels on this side of the world. That first LCF has definitely helped bring our brand to where it is now, and we look forward to the next one with you.
