Renowned London artist and illustrator
James Daw will be our artist in residence at The London Coffee Festival this year. He will be joined by friends: Harry Pye, Gordon Beswick, Cristina Quesada, James Lawson and Olga Suchanova - all well known London artists that exhibit at Tate Modern once a year.
James worked for many years as an abstract painter before turning his hand to illustration working on editorial and fun projects such as designing Christmas cards for The London Design Museum. James works in collage and mixed media by creating textures, scribbles and splodges that are then cut out and manipulated in Photoshop. Always keeping a sense of play and experimental. He describes his work as “bold, contemporary, and quirky and always with a sense of narrative and thought”. James will be exhibiting and selling original artwork, as well as a selection of specially commissioned coffee prints.
