What sparked your interest in becoming a barista?
I sparked my interest to become a Barista when I was studying at my local coffee shop, when one of the baristas bought my coffee over, I saw amazing latte art on it. This always makes me curious on how do they do it?! I said to the manager “one day I will learn to do latte art” So after completing my sports management degree I told the manager I want to become a Barista, and he agreed and that's how I started.
How do you share your passion for coffee with others, whether within the industry or the wider community?
Apart from working at Nostos full time, I also do Instagram on the side with currently around 2.6k followers. I often share many Coffee videos with my followers/ coffee friends, creating latte art videos, different coffee shop recommendations. I also did some funny reels with Claudiu (over 140k followers on IG) about Customers funny reels and I did lots of collaborations with other coffee brands to share their new products. Some of the brands I have collaborated with are WPM, OREA, Ikape, IAMNOTABARISTA, OUTIN and many more.
Tell us a bit about your signature drink:
I wanted to create something fruity, using fruits that are not always available. It will be similar to my previous signature drink, Violet, but I wanted to make it more interesting and tastier than before and to pair it with a more interesting coffee using different type of fruits and using a different brewing technique compared to the last time.
- Homemade raspberry and pomegranate syrup infused with blood orange peel and rosemary.
- I will also infuse the Dry Gin with blood orange and a some lime to give it a nice kick.
- The coffee I would be using hopefully would be Peru Gesha anaerobic natural tasting notes of blood orange and rose. I will be brewing it with the NEO HARIO SWITCH, which can enhance the drink and topped it off with tonic water and blood orange slice and rosemary.
The drink would be shaken with ice and hopefully I can create something that's looks like a sunset setting, and it would taste super unique and refreshing just in time for the heat coming!! I will also pair it with unique snack on the side which will go well with the drink and skills that I learned from cooking school.
