Supporting coffee farmers

We are Farm Africa, an award-winning charity marking 40 years of increasing farming families’ incomes through sustainable farming and protecting the environment in eastern Africa.
We’re proud to be the charity partner of The London Coffee Festival. We’d love you to come and say hello and find out more about the family farmers that grow the coffee you love to drink.
A whopping 80% of East African coffee is grown by smallholder farmers, who depend on coffee farming for their income, yet bear the brunt of climate change and live in poverty.
Sadly, children in coffee-growing communities are missing out on an education because their parents cannot earn enough from farming to feed their family and pay their school fees.
Like you, we love our coffee and want to see farmers receive a fair wage for the coffee they grow, so that they and their families can thrive, not just survive.
Farm Africa has helped coffee farmers in Ethiopia increase their incomes by over 110% and build their resilience to climate change, so that they can now afford to send their children to school.
By donating £5 for a London Coffee Festival tote bag, you can help more children in coffee-growing communities get an education and have a brighter future. Find us at the bag counter by the Brick Lane entrance, where you will also have the chance to win prizes.
You can also visit our stand in Hyde Park to find out more about our work with female coffee farmers and take part in our “Guess the beans” competition.
