RASTISLAV KASAR

RASTISLAV KASAR

Rastislav Kasar, better known by his nickname, Rasty is a skilled Slovak barista/bartender. Whilst studying at the school of Hospitality and Trade in Slovakia he dreamt of becoming a member of the most iconic hotel bar in the world American Bar at the SAVOY.

He managed to complete this dream at age of 20 and became the youngest ever working team member at this institution. Getting to know his idols Erik Lörincz working next to him played a major role in Rasty’s further professional and personal development.

Rasty wanted to see what “the Mecca of coffee” has to offer and decided to spend some time working in the coffee industry. During the last eight years of working and living in London he managed to work in some very respected venues including Scarfes Bar at the Rosewood. He was part of the opening team of the Kwānt 1.0 by Erik Lörincz as well as Kwānt 2.0. Being on the debut team was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that propelled him to new heights.

After Erik had to close the Kwānt, Rasty dove back into coffee and eventually won both the annual 2022 Coffee Masters competition held during the London Coffee Festival and the 2023 UK Coffee in Good Spirits. Representing the United Kingdom in 2023 in Taipei, Taiwan Rasty with his team managed to win the competition becoming the World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion.

Rasty, armed with expertise, insight, and unwavering support, is carving out a niche for himself as an advocate for the coffee cocktail, but more broadly, the hospitality industry.

After finishing his degree in Business Psychology, he is looking into bigger challenges.

Spending one year in Greece turned out to be a great success and now he is on a pursuit of continuing to grow his personal brand in order to open a venue of his own one day.

“Neither bartender nor barista, but equally both”.
